About the Artist: Margaret Stratton works in both Photography and video. She earned her M.A. in 1983 and an M.F.A. in 1985 from the University of New Mexico. She has received numerous awards including five National Endowment for the Arts awards in three categories: photography, installation and new genres. Her video "Kiss the Boys and Make Them Die" was award Best New Film or Video by the Canadian Film board and received the 1995 Directors Award from the Black Maria Film Festival in Los Angeles. She also received a Public Works Project, Artists 1990 Award from the Seattle Arts Commission and the 1996 Faculty Scholar Award from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA
